愛宕神社

It is said that the beginning of Washio Shrine (Washio Gongen) was the beginning of the Washio Shrine (Washio Gongen), which enshrined Izanagi and Tenninho Mimi in the second year of Emperor Keiko (1972). The age is just a tradition . Tadayuki Kuroda, the second feudal lord of the Fukuoka domain, convinced Atago Gongen, who enshrines Izanami and the spirit of fire, and then the two companies were merged into Atago Shrine in 1901 (Washio). .. It is said to be "one of the three major Atago in Japan", but no such indication is found in the remaining two, Atago Shrine in Kyoto (headquarters) and Tokyo. The city view and night view from the precincts are popular.

音次郎稲荷神社

Inari is located at the place where you can climb up Otokozaka and Onnazaka and meet. The vermilion torii stands out. Inari was originally the first god of grains such as rice. Since the Edo period, Otojiro, Yoshitaro, Otoyoshiro, Otohira, and Matsushita's Inari Goichi are enshrined. There is a fork with a torii in the middle of Otokozaka, which is the approach to Inari. It is said that the large ginkgo tree in the precincts is a secret power spot.

観音寺

A temple of the Shingon sect in the middle of Sakurazaka on the southern slope of Mt. Atago. Kyushu 88 places 85th bill place. The principal image is the Atago Gongen Shogun Jizo Daibosatsu. Many stone Buddhas are lined up, including the 13 stone Buddhas. The stone Buddhas that were once scattered were collected by the efforts of Mr. Sumiyo Banchu. From the side of Senju Kannon-do, you can overlook the Sefuri Mountains and the Meinohama area.

岩窟弁財天社

I'm sorry. There is a natural rock cave lid beside the Atago 4-chome public hall, where Benzaiten is enshrined. Before the sea was reclaimed (Toyohama), it was a beach. Until around the 1960s, this area was called Bentencho. It is also described in the Chikuzen Kokuryo Fudoki, and has been worshiped as a guardian deity of the safety of the sea since ancient times.

鍾道神社

There was a shrine inside the hairpin curve on the Atagoyama sightseeing road on the north side of Mt. Atago. In 2015, all the structures were removed due to the construction of the observatory, and it is currently missing. The only name is "Oyamazumijinjaato Park". Behind it is a memorial monument to Toyokichi Hamuro, the founder of the Meinohama Coal Mine, but it remains in good condition.

地蔵院密寺

A temple of the Shingon sect located just after entering Meiji-dori.

須賀神社

Until recently, there was a shrine at the top of a small mountain (Mt. Washio) in the south-southeast of Atago Shrine, but it has now been removed and is missing. You can go to the flat top of the mountain from the side of Iwaya or the side of Otojiro Inari. It was said that Hojo Kanetoki built Tandai Castle (Meinohama Castle, Washio Castle) here, but it is now accepted that Tandai Castle was elsewhere.

宗玉神社

Just below the top of the ridge that extends to the east, it was until a certain time, but now it is a private house and its existence is unknown.

鬼形鬼子母神

Namikiri

            Setaka

Ogre-like Hariti

You can see the demon-shaped demon mother god and the stone Buddha of Prabhutaratna at the top of the stairs of a private house about 100m down from the confluence with Otokozaka in Onnazaka.

Also, an old map shows that there was Namikiri Fudoson in this area. However, at present, only these two statues can be found.

Kishimojin is the guardian deity of children and easy delivery. Namikirifudoin became the guardian deity of the voyage from the legend that he saved the envoy to Tang on which Kobo Daishi (Kukai) was on board in the storm. It is said that he showed spiritual power even during the Mongol invasion. By the way, the head temple of Namikiri Fudoson is Koyasan Nanin.
