Gray heron and great egret are in the middle of raising children this year (2017.06.17)
この時期は木の葉が繁り、なかなか姿が見えにくい。左が親で、下に白くて丸く見える２つの塊が２羽の子ども。
親はどこに行ったのか、お留守番。この時期は巣にどちらかの親が居るのが普通。この大きさにまでなったら良いのか知らないが、カラスに狙われることだってある。親鳥はすぐ近くにいると思われるのだが。よく見ると、うずくまっている２羽目の子がいるのが判る。
左が親、子どもの１羽はうずくまり、右側の１羽は既に羽ばたきの練習か。
この巣は子どもは１羽のみ。右が親で、左が子。だいぶ大きくなって立派に。親に何かをねだっているのだろうか。

愛宕山の南山麓、旧唐津街道に面した愛宕神社参道の入口。鳥居をくぐると直ぐに桜坂の階段を上る。２の鳥居から、階段の両脇にソメイヨシノが並び、桜の杜が始まる。
桜坂の名前の由来は説明するまでもない。階段の先、観音密寺まで桜のトンネルが続く。
参道の階段を上って振り返って下を眺めると、桜のトンネルの先に鳥居が見える、
桜坂の途中には愛宕権現勝軍地蔵大菩薩を本尊とする観音密寺があり、その境内に入ると、見事に花開いたソメイヨシノの巨木が目に飛び込んでくる。
甘味処の岩井屋の脇にある階段を登った先に、かつて鷲尾城（姪浜城）があったといわれる小山の頂上に至る。音次郎稲荷神社の脇の急な坂を登ってもたどり着く。頂上付近は比較的平らな広場（といってもさほど広くはないが）になっていて、今の季節には桜の広場となっている。
山上の広場に咲く桜は、ソ メイヨシノやヤマザクラ。未確認だが、ツクシザクラと思われる桜も。この広場の先に「愛宕山ロープウェイ」山上駅の遺構がある。

It's almost time to see the Yoshino cherry tree in full bloom. But it's finally spring time. Satoyama vegetation has begun to bloom one after another. There are still 3-4 pretty flowers of Gentiana, but they are starting to bloom. In addition, dead-nettle, corydalis incisa, ajuga decumbens, viola grypocera, mustard greens, and oak and elderberry trees also bloom, and shikimi has a strong scent of perfume. The cold wind may still blow, but why don't you visit Atagoyama to love the flowers of these satoyama?

踊り子が輪になって踊っているように見える薄いピンクの花。駐車場の先(南)、直ぐ先の擁壁の上に群生しています。
愛宕山のあちこちで見られます。駐車場とオドリコソウ群生地との間にも咲いています。
擁壁の隙間に見られます。写真は、甘味処のある広場から観音蜜寺へ下りる階段までの間の愛宕神社側の擁壁で撮ったものです。
甘味処のある広場(愛宕神社入口)から音次郎稲荷神社に行く道の山側斜面や、観音蜜寺の門の向かい側に群生しています。
愛宕神社から東に向かう尾根筋とその南側斜面に一面に広がっている芥子菜の黄色は見事。花が咲いている場所には入ることはできませんが、女坂の途中や、その下の道に下る細い道から眺めることができます。
愛宕神社の第二駐車場(駐車場と甘味処のある愛宕神社入口との中間)の脇に咲くコナラ。若葉が出始めて樹全体が黄緑色になっています。
愛宕山観光道路の最初のヘアピンカーブを曲がったところ（現在工事中の場所の直ぐ上）に咲いています。この画像は、花をクローズアップで撮ったもの。
抹香の香りに包まれて趣を持った花が樹一面に咲いていますが、猛毒の樹なので注意。仏事に多く用いられています。観音蜜寺の本堂脇を奥に進んだ先に咲いています。

守る会が2月18日に取り組んだ頂上駅跡の整備作業が、2月24日夕方の rkb今日感ニュースで紹介されました。（画像は rkbテレビのサイトより）
ロープウェイ遺構の配置を図面に落としてみました。まだ覆土・樹林があるために不明な部分が多く、暫定的なものです（2017.7.6改訂）。

この小枝は結構重かったなぁ。次のは、もう少し軽いのにしておこう。

愛宕の森と緑を守る会は、「愛宕山ケーブルカー」山頂駅跡の整備に着手しました。竹をはじめ、覆っている木々を伐採して、溜まっている土を掘り起こし中です。
覆っている木々や土を除去すると、ロープウェイ山頂駅の姿が徐々に現れ始めました。左右２個所のゴンドラ発着場所の間にあるコンクリート台は、元々は右端の階段部分しか見えていませんでした。
整備作業はまだ手についたばかり。さらに奥の方に広がっている様子が見て取れます。

In spring, gentian is entertaining us with its lovely light blue flowers, but now, gentian in Atagoyama is in danger of extinction due to disappearance due to development, environmental changes, and invasion of alien plants. I'm currently looking for ways to recover the precious gentian that was left behind, but recently I was able to find new shoots growing. Gentiana is an annual plant. It is about 1 to 3 cm high now, but I hope that it will withstand the harsh winter and grow to about 10 cm in the next spring and bloom safely.
A big tree has been cut down (2016.12.12)
Just the other day, several trees, including a large tree with a diameter of over 1 m (over 3 m in circumference) and a tree with a diameter of about 60 cm (around 1.7 m), which grew directly above the scenic stand, were cut down from the root. It turned out that it was. Roughly guessing from the annual rings found on the stump, the tree was over 40 years old. By the way, the standard of the perimeter of the tree designated by Fukuoka City as a preserved tree is "1.5 m or more", so it goes without saying that it was a tree suitable for "a tree worthy of preservation". At this point, it is unknown why these precious trees, which were precious to form the "Atago Forest" in the corner of Mt. Atago, have been cut down.
It is speculated that the possible reasons are (1) there is a road directly underneath, and it is dangerous if a tree falls, (2) the fallen leaves are severe, and cleaning is difficult. Children's nature class
"Let's look for insects on Mt. Atago" was well received (2016.08.06)
14 children and 7 adults participated in the insect collecting nature class held for 4th to 6th graders on the 4th to 5th of this month, which was very popular. On the first day, we created and installed a collection trap and collected insects. On the second day, we collected traps and collected insects, and then identified the insect species caught at Atago Public Hall and made specimens . There were more than 30 kinds of insects that I was absorbed in collecting, such as butterflies and Dorcus rectus ♂♀. In addition, shellfish and pill bugs are also available.

トラップの中の誘引液はベトベト。それに浸かっていたゴミムシをまずは水で洗って、次の処理へ。
ヒラタシデムシなど。「ゴミムシ」は、一部を除くオサムシ科の総称。異臭で、子ども達は大騒ぎ。

Kannon Mitsuji is now located in the middle of Sakurazaka, but its origin is old, and its roots are in the inner shrine of Washio Shrine, which used to be called Washioyama. 肉食性で、体と比べるとかなり大きく鋭い大顎を持っているので、結構恐ろしい顔つきに。素早く動くため、そっと近づいてよくよく眺めて初めて判るのではあるが。
Three raccoon dogs make their first debut (2016.07.06)
I received information that I witnessed three raccoon dogs yesterday. Ayako appears on Mt. Atago !? (2016.04.27)
It's a little old (March 17th) topic, but ... A rainbow-colored light on Mt. Atago. Is this also because there is a new Atago Shrine? That's not the case. It is a natural phenomenon and is called Sundogs. Ice crystals in the atmosphere are produced by refracting the light of the sun, and rainbow-colored bands (red on the sun side) appear about 22 degrees to the left and right of the sun. If you look closely, it is thinner than the sun dog, but there is a ring-shaped rainbow-colored ring around the sun that connects to the sun dog. This is named Uchikasa or Haro, and the phenomenon is the same as the sun dog, which is 22 degrees away from the sun. The photo on the right is the inner halo that I was able to see on this day. The white streaks on the left are contrails. It's a rare phenomenon, but you might see it when you look at the west sky on a cloudy evening. The best spot is from the right bank of the Muromi River.
