Gray heron and great egret are in the middle of raising children this year (2017.06.17)
Many herons used to form colonies on Mt. Atago, but now the number of herons has dropped sharply due to the construction of highways and the cutting of trees. However, although the number has decreased, the nesting site has been moved closer to the approach, and a reasonable number of gray herons and great egrets have built nests on the trees, and now they are in the middle of raising children. The leaves of the trees are thick and it is difficult to shoot, but I can somehow catch the appearance of the chicks. Even so, the loud chorus of chicks echoing and being noisy is one of the features of this season. Even so, be careful of "falling objects" when passing through the road under the nest at this time of year.

Development of residential land for illegal acts-Construction "on schedule" is currently underway
(2017.04.06)

Article 29 of the Town Planning and Zoning Act for the purpose of green space conservation stipulates that development over 1000 square meters requires the mayor's examination and development permission, and regulates overdevelopment. However, two years ago, the construction of a residential land over 1,000 square meters was carried out by dividing the land into two parts, formally disguising it as another land, and proceeding with the development without obtaining permission. The green has disappeared. I mentioned this incident on the Atagoyama Crisis page , but the problem is that the city advised me to do so and advised me to stagger the construction for two years. And just two years later, the finishing residential land development work has begun (although most of it has already been done in the same work). If this kind of illegal act goes through, Atagoyama will lose green one after another like a worm-eaten. The government's stance of turning its back on the purpose of the Town Planning and Zoning Act that exists to protect the environment should be denied, and I would like to prevent such illegal development activities from happening again on Mt. Atago.

Flower season Finally, gentian has begun to bloom this year as well.
(2017.04.03)
It's almost time to see the Yoshino cherry tree in full bloom. But it's finally spring time. Satoyama vegetation has begun to bloom one after another. There are still 3-4 pretty flowers of Gentiana, but they are starting to bloom. In addition, dead-nettle, corydalis incisa, ajuga decumbens, viola grypocera, mustard greens, and oak and elderberry trees also bloom, and shikimi has a strong scent of perfume. The cold wind may still blow, but why don't you visit Atagoyama to love the flowers of these satoyama?

"Atagoyama Cable Car" Additional Information Discover the remains of the pedestal !
  (2017.03.31)
There our becoming clear that the whole picture of the ropeway Sanjo Station mark in February of efforts, but (following articles and pages of "Atagoyama cable car" reference), of two new locations in the efforts of March 26 I found the remains of the pedestal. One was right under Yamagami Station, and the other was in the woods near Otojiro Inari Shrine, about two-thirds from the bottom of the ropeway route. The whole picture is not clear yet, but the concrete frame is visible. The location of these pedestal traces is consistent with the location of the stanchions that can be seen in old photographs and videos. The remains of the pillar pedestal in the forest are covered with a rockfall prevention net, and the wire that supports the rockfall prevention net also runs through the remains of the pillar pedestal near Yamagami Station. This means that the person who constructed the rockfall prevention net already knew the existence of the pedestal traces.

"Atagoyama Cable Car" Yamagami station ruins turned out to be quite large
                                                         (2017.02.25)
Kyushu's first ropeway that was once called "Atagoyama Cable Car". It disappeared as a victim of war (such as the donation of iron) and became a forgotten existence. It was thought that only the explanation board standing beside the sweets shop kept its remnants, but in fact, a meeting to protect the trace of Yamagami Station on the side of the summit of Mt. Washio was held in November 2015. I revealed it on the moon (though those who knew it probably knew it). This remains is a valuable existence that should be left behind, both in terms of knowing the history of Mt. Atago and in the sense of "war remains." Subsequent investigations revealed that the remains were not "small" and we worked as a group to protect the maintenance work, which is currently underway. The work done on the 18th and the subsequent investigations have almost revealed the whole picture. The depth is less than 20m and the width is less than 9m near the gondola departure and arrival location in front of the photo, and it turned out to be a wide remains of about 18m in the back. Therefore, I made a tentative sketch. The initially exposed area is shown in yellow. It is a scale that could not be imagined from the appearance that was initially seen ( Click here for the "Atagoyama Cable Car" page ).
This maintenance work effort was introduced on RKB TV

RKB TV, which aired a film of the excavated "Atagoyama Cable Car" under the title of "Phantom Ropeway" in May last year, covered the activities of the Yamagami Station Remains of the Mamorukai, which was undertaken on the 18th. It was aired on the 24th today's news. An article on the RKB TV website introduces:

"Until about 70 years ago, the video of the" phantom ropeway "on Mt. Atago in Fukuoka City was previously shown.
As I told you, the remains of the ropeway are now emerging from the soil.
Volunteers working on digging up and locals who know when the ropeway was moving
I asked this person about his thoughts. "
