Oil chrysanthemum. A perennial plant belonging to the genus Chrysanthemum in the family Asteraceae. Also known as Shimakangiku (Shimakangiku) and Hamakangiku (Hamakangiku). The tubular flower in the center is yellow. The surrounding tongue-shaped flowers (so-called petals) are diverse, usually yellow but some are white. On a sunny slope west of Kinki. It has been used as a wound medicine by soaking it in oil since the Edo period. This is the origin of the name.
