Yamabuki. Rosaceae, Japanese kerria. The scientific name is Kerria japonica . A deciduous shrub that is native to Japan and is commonly found in low mountains and hills nationwide.
Japanese kerria flowers. Flowering from April to May. The color of the flower is bright yellow, or rather, the color of this flower is named "Yamabuki". Jetbead, which is very similar to Yamabuki, is a plant of another genus (Rosaceae, Jetbead, native species is Endangered IB). The Japanese kerria has 5 petals, but the white kerria has 4 petals, and the leaves are opposite to the Japanese kerria, so it can be easily distinguished from the white flowers.
Yaeyamabuki (Yaeyamabuki). An old cultivar of Japanese kerria. It appears in the Manyoshu under the name of Yamaburi. As in the famous anecdote of Ota Dokan, "Seven-folded double-flowered flowers are blooming, but Yamabuki's fruit (Mino) is one and sad" (Kaneakira-shinno, Goshui Wakashu, 1086), the double-flowered Japanese kerria Does not bear fruit.
