Yatake. The name given to it as a material for arrows. Although the name is "bamboo", it belongs to "sasa" (= the skin wraps the rod even after growth) in terms of classification. Also known as Heradake, Shinobe, Yajino, Shinome. It is native to the west of Honshu and is also distributed in Shikoku and Kyushu. The feature is that only one branch comes out from each node and branches. Overall length 2.5-4.5m. It is suitable for arrows because it has long internodes and little bulge, but it is also used for brush shafts and fishing rods.
It grows on the side of the second parking lot of Atago Shrine and near the side of the torii gate, which is located up the stone steps from the Chozuya.
