Yabukanko. An evergreen small shrub of the genus Ardisia japonica in the family Primrose. Another name, Juryo. It is 10 to 30 cm high and bears red fruits in winter. It is distributed all over the country and is commonly found in the shade of trees. Because the fruit is beautiful, it is treated as a lucky charm along with Manryo (10,000 cars), Senryo (thousand cars), and Karatachibana (hundred cars) as cultivars.
