Door or sea paulownia flower. Cheesewood family Cheesewood. Also known as Tobiraki, Tobiraki. A dioecious coastal evergreen small tree. The branches and leaves were hung on the door with sardines at Setsubun. The smell of the cut branches and leaves is said to be a talisman. It is said to be a "door tree," and the door became a tobera.
Aromatic white flowers bloom around May.
At the end of the flowering season, spherical, yellow-green capsules are formed.
In autumn, when the fruit of Tobera ripens, it splits into three and red seeds appear.
