Chinaberry. Deciduous tree of the family Sapindales. Also known as Ochi, the ancient name Afuchi (also appeared in Pillow Soshi). Swallowtails gather on the flowers. The leaves are often used as medicinal plants because they have a strong insecticidal effect. It is also used as high-class furniture (Mindy wood) with beautiful wood grain.
It is different from the "Sendan is better than Futaba" Sendan. The saying goes, sandalwood is native to India.

The fruit of Chinaberry. An ellipsoid with a major axis of about 1.5 to 2 cm. Inside there is a hard nucleus with a star-shaped ridge. The nucleus is divided into 5 chambers, each containing seeds.
After the leaves fall, yellow-green fruits continue to remain in the trees, so they stand out whitish among the trees. A favorite of birds such as bulbuls. In fact, it contains a poison called meliatoxin, which causes food poisoning and deaths. It is reported that about 6 to 8 dogs will be lethal to children and dogs, and will die within 48 hours.
