Real kudzu. An evergreen vine of the genus Kadsura of the family Schisandraceae. It is dioecious, but there are also monoecious strains. Also known as Kadsura japonica, it can be used as a rinse. It is a typical species of Mt. Atago, but unfortunately it has become rare in recent years. In late autumn, the aggregate fruit turns beautiful red. After the fruit has fallen, the flower bed turns bright red and is beautiful.
