Kuroki. Symplocaceae Symplocos. Evergreen trees distributed in the coastal area west of South Kanto.
Croquid flower. The flowering season is from March to April, with fragrant white flowers. The dense stamens are long and yellow and stand out. In autumn, the fruits ripen and turn black.
The leaves are similar to ilex, but can be distinguished by the shallow serrations on the edges. The young branches have four vertical ridges, and the cross section is roughly rhombic.
