Bambusa multiplex. Perennial evergreen bamboo of the genus Bambusa of the Gramineae family. Also known as Chinchiku (since the rod is thick and heavy and sinks in water), earthen bamboo. Native to the tropics such as Southeast Asia. Classified as bamboo. Many branches come out from the node. It grows in a forest near the scenic spot.

Rhizome does not grow and grows densely. It is a characteristic of tropical bamboo that grows densely. It is said that it was introduced to Japan as a raw material for fuselocks of matchlock guns.
