Atago Otojiro Inari Shrine, a small shrine on Mt. Atago, holds a summer festival every July. Kagura dance is dedicated after the Shinto ritual is performed. In 2018, the performance of Chikuzen Biwa was also dedicated. Kagura dance is performed every year by Kanemi Hanayagi of Natori Hanayagi, but in 2018, the performance of Chikuzen Biwa "Myth: Susano Onomikoto" is preserved by Mine Seiryu Chikuzen Biwa. It was performed by Choka Ogata, a master of the society and a Biwa Joruri player.
Why don't you visit the annual festival? Participants also have fun drawing lots. In addition, it is said that the large ginkgo tree that penetrates the roof of the shrine is "a power spot where you can get" ki (tree) "when you hold the trunk." Would you like to try this too?
It is said that the history of Chikuzen Biwa dates back to the blind priest Biwa 1200 years ago, and a monument to the birthplace of Chikuzen Biwa is built at the Jojuin near Nishitetsu Hirao Station. Chikuzen Biwa, which was revived in the middle of the Meiji era, dominated the world in the early Showa period, and has continued to this day. The player, Mr. Ogata, is from the Faculty of Law, Seinan Gakuin University, and has been active nationwide while serving as a Biwa Joruri player of the Ningyo Joruri-za "Chikuzen Gakukoiza", which was born in Fukuoka Prefecture, including Chikuzen Biwa from the age of 13.
