Washio Atago Shrine

It is said that the beginning of Washio Shrine (Washio Gongen) was the beginning of the Washio Shrine (Washio Gongen), which enshrined Izanagi and Tenninho Mimi in the second year of Emperor Keiko (1972). The age is just a tradition. In 1634 (Kanei 11), Tadayuki Kuroda, the second feudal lord of the Fukuoka domain, enshrined Atago Gongen, who enshrines Izanami and the spirit of fire, and then in 1901 (Meiji 34). The two companies were merged into Washio Atago Shrine (commonly known as Atago Shrine). Although it is called "one of the three major Atago shrines in Japan," such expressions are not used at the remaining two Atago shrines (headquarters in Tokyo and Kyoto). It is crowded with many worshipers in the new year. The view of Hakata Bay, the city, and the night view from the precincts is perfect.
