Please see the explanation board for what kind of road the Karatsu Highway was. The Karatsu Highway is now left along Meiji-dori as a road through the shopping streets of Nishijin and Fujisaki. Further westward, it overlaps with Meinohama Dori, and after crossing the Muromi River, it divides from Meinohama Dori to the north along the southern foot of Mt. Then, we will reach the Meinohama district, which retains the remnants of the old days of the post town. Here, efforts are being actively made by local efforts to preserve the houses that retain their old-fashioned appearance. However, from a frank impression, it is certain that if the "value of the cityscape" was noticed a little earlier, it would have been possible to see something different from what it is now.
